What kind of glass is used for custom shower enclosures?
We use global standard 10mm (3/8’’) – 12mm (1/2’’) tempered glass that is 6 times stronger than regular glass. For safety reasons, when broken, it shatters into small fragments.

What kind of hinges do you use?
Our glass hardware supplied by CRL one of the largest company in North American.
We use solid forged brass hinges with non-asbestos gaskets. The back plate with four screws strongly secures glass panels. This type of hinges has been tested for 200,000 opening cycles.

Are there any building code requirements for glass showers?
Yes. The glass must be tempered or laminated, and have a minimum thickness of ¼” (6mm). Additionally, the doors must swing out (our dual swinging doors are a bonus!). Panels are recommended to be mechanically fastened to a wall, ceiling or floor. Shower Avenue meets or exceeds all of these codes at every step of the process.

Is Shower-Avenue insured?
We take great care of your home and ensure that all the other elements in your washroom and home are not damaged during out installation. Even so, we are fully insured and bonded. We carry $2,000,000 in liability insurance. All of our employees are bonded and covered by workers compensation. We carry this insurance to protect you, our customer, as well as our employees and your home.

Which areas do you service?
We are based in Oakville, Ontario, serving the surrounding GTA area and up to 200km away.

How long does it take to get my custom shower?
Lead-time from the date of order is approximately 10 business days. This time is needed to exactly cut and temper the glass to your specific fabrication requirements. Shower Avenue carries a selection of shower doors and the most popular hardware finishes in our inventory to avoid any order delays.
